Everett, MA - The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education would like to congratulate Cohasset High School and Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District for their achievements in three essential areas of school sustainability: 1) reduced environmental impact and costs, 2) improved health and wellness, and 3) effective environmental and sustainability education. This Earth Day (April 22), DESE hopes that other schools will be inspired to take actions of their own, learning from the best practices demonstrated by Cohasset and Spencer-East Brookfield. Note: The Department identified Cohasset and Spencer-East Brookfield in anticipation of submitting them for the U.S. Education Department’s Green Ribbon Schools program, but that program is not accepting submissions this year.
