Good Morning! This is a friendly reminder that Routine COVID Safety Checks (formerly known as Pooled Testing) will resume in all schools across the District on Wednesday, 2/9. This added level of testing will be reintroduced to our existing testing practices, which currently includes in-school symptomatic testing and at-home surveillance testing. If you have previously opted-in for your child to participate in test-and-stay at school, you do not need to complete another consent. If you have not yet opted-in to in-school testing, please visit https://www.cic-health.com/consent/ma to submit your consent form. To see more on how pooled testing works here in Massachusetts schools, we recommend this video - https://youtu.be/HwLspzW8EeI

For 13 years, World Read Aloud Day has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud! The global effort, created by the non-profit LitWorld and sponsored by Scholastic, is celebrated annually in over 173 countries and is all about bringing people together through the shared connection of reading aloud in all of our communities.
Fifth grade students were asked to create a diorama of the major setting of the novel they read at home. Inside of this setting, they had to include five items that were important to the protagonist. Each item had to include a well written paragraph that explained the importance. This writing was accompanied by reposenses that also analyzed the theme of their novel.
In grade six, students analyzed their self read novel for the archetype of "The Hero's Journey" by Joseph Campell. For each stage, they identified and illustrated how their protagonist met the stage with proof from both their text and "The Hero's Journey."
2022-2023 Kindergarten Search Forms were mailed out earlier this week to all families in the district that registered a child with the town census who will be 5 years old on/by 8/31/2022.
