SPENCER, MA – May 13th, 2021. The Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District is pleased to announce that Melanie Ethier has been selected as the next principal of Wire Village School, effective July 1, 2021. Mrs. Ethier will be filling the position vacated by Linda Stanelun, who will be serving as the District’s Director of PreSchool/Early Education.
Mrs. Ethier currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Wire Village School, her third year in that position. Prior to assuming the Assistant Principal role, she served as an elementary school teacher at East Brookfield Elementary School in the District for seven years.
“As a regional school district, we always want to ensure that we find the right person for each position we fill, a person who will bring their expertise, skills, and professionalism to the role, while embracing the values of our school community, said Mrs. Melissa Farrow, Assistant Business Manager in charge of Human Resources.
These are exciting times for our district and each of its schools, as we begin to chase excellence in the years ahead. “…And it is always exciting to see our educators strive to take instructional leadership posts within our district,” said Superintendent of Schools, Paul S. Haughey. “Knowing the enthusiasm and commitment that Mrs. Ethier has already demonstrated to the students, staff, and families of this learning community in her previous roles, I am sure she will lead Wire Village School to new heights. On behalf of all of us within the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District, I speak for everyone when I say, ‘we are honored to have her as the next Principal of Wire Village School.’”
In learning the news that she was going to be the next Principal, Mrs. Ethier added, “It's an honor and privilege to be named the next Principal of Wire Village School... I am excited to continue to serve in this team effort, as we support our students, parents and families in grades kindergarten through fourth grade.”
