2025!

Welcome back!

I hope each of you had a restful and rejuvenating holiday break. As we begin the new year, I am grateful for your continued dedication to our students, schools, and community. The start of a new semester brings fresh opportunities to build on our successes and tackle new challenges with the same passion and commitment that have defined this district.

As we step into 2025, let’s remember the importance of collaboration, innovation, and support for one another. This year, we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our students and staff, ensuring an engaging and enriching educational experience for all, and strengthen the partnerships that help make our district such a special place.

Enrollment: Our enrollment as a regional school district has steadied since our last update! As of this morning, we have 1442 students enrolled within our district.  David Prouty High School has 307 students enrolled; Knox Trail Middle School has 421 students; Wire Village School has 433 students; and East Brookfield Elementary School has 259 students including 111 students enrolled for the "Cubs Corner" Preschool!

Personnel: We continue to post for paraprofessionals and substitute teachers to join our district.  If you are interested in becoming a part of our family, please apply at: https://www.schoolspring.com

We invite you to visit our website for the district calendar, school websites for all school and district event information, and athletics for all sports-related information. Our students work hard; we hope you join us on the sidelines or in the audience to cheer them on as they showcase their talents.

As a reminder, we have information on our website regarding Winter Weather Cancellations. Living in New England can sometimes lead to challenging and unexpected changes in the weather. Please prepare as much as possible for these events.

Finally, school attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build new skills that last a lifetime. When students miss school, they miss valuable lessons, friendships, and experiences that help shape their future. Parents, caregivers, and students let’s prioritize attendance and ensure we’re setting up every student for success!

I am excited about the new year’s opportunities, and I look forward to working with each of you to make the second half of the school year a success. Together, we will continue to foster a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for all our students.

Wishing you all a smooth and successful start to the new year. Let’s make it a great one! And as always, thank you for your partnership and support of the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District! #Innovate #Inspire #Achieve

Sincerely Yours,
Paul S. Haughey, Ed.D.
